These photographs were taken by Tom for the final major project whilst at Sandwell during 2013.
The photographs explore the theme of Hats. They show people from different
backgrounds wearing hats for a variety of reasons. Because there is a story
behind each hat, Tom hoped to pose questions and prompt conversations. Tom was inspired by a quote said by author, Martha Sliter -
“A piece of magic is a hat.” Martha Sliter.
The photographs show that hats are wore for many types of uses - leisure, work, style, protection and even religion.
Several of these images were displayed as a final exhibition along with the rest of Tom's HND2 class's work in June 2013 at the Public in West Browmich.
